Styles Sass

Born in North Dakota, USA, I have gained extensive international experience throughout my academic and professional career. After completing a Bachelor's degree in Literature and Film at the University of Iowa, I spent a semester abroad at the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastián/Donostia, Spain, where I also worked as an English instructor.

I continued my academic training at Heidelberg University in Germany, earning both a Master's degree and a PhD in American Studies. My doctoral research focused on campaign narratives in the context of the 2008 U.S. presidential election. I ran the Writing Workshop at the Heidelberg Center for American Studies and later was the Assistant Director of the American Junior Year study abroad program at Heidelberg.

I currently work as a lecturer at AKAD University and as an editor, translator, and writer. My professional focus lies in academic and editorial writing, intercultural communication, and the development and coordination of international education programs. I am currently based in Stuttgart, Germany.
