Dr. Styles sass is originally from North Dakota and studied Literature at the University of Iowa. He did a study abroad semester at the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastian, where, having completed his Bachelor’s degree, he continued to teach English. Dr. Sass later went on to do a Masters and a Doctoral degree in American Studies at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg, writing on the campaign narratives of the 2008 US presidential election. He ran the Writing Center at the Heidelberg Center for American Studies and later was the Assistant Director of an American study abroad program. Dr. Sass currently lives in Stuttgart, where he is an instructor at AKAD University, and works as a writer, editor, and translator.
